Maybe there is waitress service but it wasn't obvious at all, nor was the menu (I'm assuming food was available). I won't rush to come back. There are better options close by
The facility I liked the less was the Gym, very basic, and I mean, pointless as a facility. Whether breakfast was included, I'll not chose to repeat once and again; everyday the same menu, no a la cart choices and quite basic. Breakfast and the gym are the less impressive services of the hotel. Other than that, the hotel is one of the most well connected hotels in town. I'll certainly be back.
Beers and ciders are sold at a good price and I really felt at home. If you plan to come here for an event or the cricket I would highly advise you do. Once again thankyou to the kind staff who made me feel like part of the team
Only 1 roulette was open & upon asking for a blackjack to be opened was informed it would be about an hour.
Lovely stay for a special occasion made personal by the hotel by a personalised gift on arrival. The room was lovely, modern, well kept and comfortable. It was a high floor with great views through the floor to ceiling windows. The lounge was great with a nice range of canapfois during certain times. The Turkish lady (Nevine?) who was looking after us in the lounge was brilliant, understood our dietary needs and approached us on entry to inform us of what food met our need. She even came to ask us if we wanted to change settings for a better view from the 23rd floor when it was available.
Wow! Can't believe this is a 2* (I would have guessed 4*) but can certainly see why it is so highly rated. The suites are well equipped and clean and the staff very friendly. However, the icing on the cake was the breakfast. Advertised as a complimentary breakfast, our expectations weren't high - a cold buffet was what we pictured.
Not my cricket ground like of old...bland without soul..94 store caters for the cem competition mainly if you can afford it.at least i have great memories of the happier times. ????????
Came here for a wind down after a stag do as it was close to our hotel. Found the staff to be a bit over the top regarding me showing ID and after calling the manager we were finally allowed in. Had a few drinks and won a few quid so all was well in the end.
Room wasn’t ready for when Sheffield casino we checked in, we travelled back from London and just wanted to chill in the room and relax after a long weekend away. Considering I paid £400 for a regency suite you’d expect it to be ready for the time you’ve paid for. Also I was told I’d get a phone call for when the room was ready and never received one I called the hotel at 630pm to be told then it was ready when check in is supposed to be at 3pm.
The door could be unlocked so I am assuming that was the same from their side. A restless night ensued. Back to the ambience of the immediate surroundings...trust me on this, the view was like something from a run down bedsit in the Bronx. I slept here and that was about it. Couldn't stand to spend anymore time here than absolutely necessary. For £40 more than I paid I could have stayed in a 5 star hotel up the road. Certainly not worth what I paid, which was just short of £100. The breakfast was average, tables were not wiped (I did this myself) there were missing items off the advertised menu which was cheap and tasteless. Just about got through it. Certainly the worst hotel I have stayed in. Buyer beware!
This was the venue for my organisation's annual conference. It was easy to get to from the city centre. It's a nice looking building and spacious. The toilets were clean and l had a lovely time in this place.
Spa facilities were good , pool is a good size, hot tub needs attention button is stuck down and difficult to get going. Changing rooms were OK, good size lockers, shower curtains need washing or replacing as they had black stains, lots of hair around on floor and on the sides. Parking at hotel is good but a little expensive I think was 27.00 for 24hours.
Conveniently located at the heart of Birmingham. Within a mile radius, you could reach the canal, the library, the Victoria square China town etc. Everything is within reach. There is a club for you to grab some soft drink which is a nice peak for members.
Walked round the outside of the West,Raglan & Family Stands to access the north side of the ground where my seat was,in the Stanley Barnes Stand. As it was such a hot early evening i was glad for the water dispersers and though the concourses are mostly open (except the South Stand) there was plenty of space for food & drink huts around the boundary walls which still left a good amount of room for people to move around and get to their seated areas. With a majority of the ground bieng open seating a fully unobstructed view of the pitch was on offer however i would point out the Upper Tier of the Eric Hollies Stand does contain a number of slim supporting roof angles and a row of more substantial columns near the rear which will likely cause a big obstruction of the field of play. Having said that,the modern 3D em linha ticket purchase system should also show up these columns so you know in advance what view you will have. Photos enclosed from my visit.
